To help make your Chicago area nanny search successful, prepare a list of job duties and responsibilities before starting the process. Provide this list to First Class Care and when interviewing candidates. During the interview process, provide each candidate with a copy of your list and have a detailed discussion about your employment expectations. Doing so will help assure that you and your candidate have a mutual understanding of the position that you’re offering.
A nanny’s primary responsibility is to provide care for your children. If non-child care related duties like grocery shopping or preparing family meals are included in your job description, it’s important that you reiterate that the care of your child comes first and outline acceptable times when these non-child care related duties may be preformed (like when the child is napping or at school).

First Class Care nannies normally receive between $13-$25 an hour depending on schedule, experience, education, number of children and other benefits.
First Class Care gives all nannies a Basic Skills Test that was developed to assess a nanny’s basic child care knowledge. The test is a 30 question, multiple choice exam. The exam addresses Health, Safety, Nutrition, Professionalism, SIDS and Child Development. The minimum passing score is 70%.

Having a written work agreement can help assure that both the nanny and the family have a clear understanding of roles, responsibilities and expectations. First Class Care provides families with a sample agreement which should be completed with your new nanny prior to your nanny’s first day of employment.
Open and honest communication is the key to developing and maintaining a lasting nanny/family relationship. First Class Care encourages families and nannies to meet regularly to discuss how the job is going and to share praise, issues or concerns.
First Class Cares fee for all placements of Full or Part time nannies is 10% of the nannies first years gross compensation package. The minimum placement fee is $1500. We offer a 6 month replacement guarantee and for the first 30 days, you can choose either a replacement nanny or a refund (less 25% of gross wages paid).
First Class Cares fee for all Live-In nannies is 12% of the nannies first years gross compensation package. The minimum placement fee is $1500. We offer a 6 month replacement guarantee and for the first 30 days, you can choose either a replacement nanny or a refund (less 25% of gross wages paid).
First Class Cares fee for all TEMP placements (defined as an individual hired to work for less than 10 months) Full or Part time is 15% of the nannies first years gross wages. The minimum placement fee for a Temp employed 5-10 days is $300, the minimum placement fee for a Temp employed more than 10 days is $500.
