Gone are the days when looking for a nanny meant scouring the countless unregulated nanny listings on the internet or digging for anyone you know with a personal reference.

And you’ve got a Highland Park native to thank for it.

Highland Park native and current Glenview resident, Erin Krex, is the mother of a 9-year-old boy. After her son was born, like most new parents, she didn’t know where to turn for help finding a nanny.

Crains-ChicagoLogoTips for holiday tipping
Etiquette professionals agree that the most important element of gift giving is forethought. Here’s what you need to know about tipping. 1. Gift the right peopleBetter to over-gift than shortchange anyone who may feel slighted without a holiday thank-you. “The doorman may be overlooked, as well as the superintendent and engineer who come at midnight to fix a broken pipe,” says Akilah Easter. “A fancy dinner gift card is probably not something (domestic help) would ever do for themselves,” Ms. Krex said. “It might be a nice treat,
but it’s better to give something they can use to provide for their
families.”            Link
